Biomorphic • A matter of where things come froM • Morf follows form

Inspired by life’s sudden inclinations and naturally fluid format, Morf has been developed as a versatile furnishing, eager to adapt to what the moment calls for. Morf can act as a seat for that unexpected plus one, a pedestal for your growing pot plant collection or maybe a sundowners side table. Characteristically bold when deployed, yet packs up modestly to fit in just about anywhere.

With an ensemble of wandering arches Morf builds a complex, yet harmonious silhouette. The hinges integrated into the legs, with a single steel pin, disguise the collapsible capability of Morf’s structure providing an unhindered final form. Morf actuates off of a central pivot point which joins the legs together and indexes off of a reference point underneath the seat moulded to shape the profile of the leg the deployed form. The sculptural nature of Morf’s legs offer unique viewing angles from any position in a space.

With consciousness unconstrained as a vision - the selection of a sustainable bio-plastic, Polylactic Acid (or PLA for short) has been made. This material is derived from sustainable, organic sources such as sugar cane and corn starch, which produce the polymer that is then impregnated with the naturally long fibres that occur in hemp. PLA boasts similar structural abilities and characteristics as its petrochemical counterparts but with the most notable advantage being its ability to be industrially composted. Meaning Morf will only ever contribute to the world in a helpful way, causing no trouble once its services are no longer required.

Morf was developed gradually and with extensive iterations. Each refinement slight but consequential. This sympathetic discourse between creator and creation is a process of guidance and culminates a truly unique final form.
